Annual Sports Day

Sports is the greatest physical poetry, that relaxes the mind and makes one carefree’
Sports Day aims at bringing out the potential and sportsmanship quality of the students. To accomplish this Annual Sports Day of Holy Redeemer English Medium School was held on October 17.

School Pupil Leader Ashel D’Souza escorted the guests with the school band led by Trisha. The chief guest with Rev. Fr. Paul Sabastian D’Souza, Correspondent V. Rev. Fr. Walter D’Mello, Headmaster Rev. Fr. Clifford Pinto, Parish Pastoral Vice President Mr. Walter Monis and Secretary Mr Gilbert Pinto, PTA Vice President Mr Richard Sequiera  and Church Higher Primary School Headmistress Mrs Renny Vas were the guests. Mr Prasad Poojary of Excel English Medium School, Venoor was an official.

The event began by singing a hymn of praise to beseech God’s blessings. School Pupil Leader Ashel D’Souza requested the guests to hoist the school flag, to acclaim the school event. Heartfelt words of welcome by the Vibhisha of class 6 were warm and pleasant.

Students who represented the school in various sports events, Vivan Pinto, Rehanth, Pranav, Trisha Goveas and Alston D’Silva were the torch bearers. The burning torch was handed over to the chief guest by Alston DSilva, to get the consent to begin the Sports Day. The solemn oath taking ceremony was conducted by the Sports Minister Alston DSilva. The leaders of the school squads, Manasvi, Ayesha Shadiya, Mohammed Shahal and Sahla Fathima took an oath on taking part in the sports of events in true spirit as a team.

Ananya Vijayan of class 9 proposed the heartfelt vote of thanks.
Student Jenisha Periera of class 9 under the guidance of Teacher Prabha Gowda compered the program wonderfully.
After the inauguration, various individual track and team events took place magnificently.
