“Light overcomes darkness, light leads to brightness, festive light brims the hearts with happiness”
Deepavali, the festival of lights was grandly celebrated at Holy Redeemer English medium school on October 18.
Chief guest Mr Prathish Gowda, Revenue Inspector of Belthangady Hobli, Correspondent Very, Rev. Fr Walter D’Mello and Headmaster Rev. Fr. Clifford Pinto were present.
The celebration began with a prayer song seeking God’s divine light to shine.
The dignitaries and all gathered were wholeheartedly welcomed by Velon Monis and Gyavino Monis of class 4.
Lighting the lamp by the dignitaries, signified the need of light to overcome darkness. Student Krithika of Class 10 narrated the significance of the celebration, meanwhile students of class 4, Vridhi, Trisha, Veeksha, Anusha, Roncita and Aadhya narrated the significance of the symbols of Deepavali.
The festive mood was vibrated by cultural programmes of dances and skit by the students. Dances entertained the students, while the skit gave a message of celebrating Deepavali eco-friendly.
Teacher Preetha D’Souza introduced the chieft guest. In his addressed the chief guest told the students to choose right over the wrong. Headmaster encouraged the students to shine bright by burning bright.
Jewel D’souza and Janya of class 4 proposed the vote of thanks gratefully, while Muhammed Iyaz and Sonal D’Souza of class 8 compered the program beautifully.
The celebration was done by the students of Class 8 and Class 4 under the guidance of the Teachers Mary Suja and Preetha D’Souza.
