School Patron’s Day Celebration

The feast of the school Patron Holy Redeemer, the spiritual guide and protector of the school, was celebrated at Holy Redeemer English Medium School, Belthangady on August 5th.

The program began solemnly with a prayer session comprising prayer dance and intentional prayers, invoking God’s blessings. Apoorva Sanakal of Class 5 graciously welcomed the gathering.

Rev. Fr Vincent Vinod Saldanha, Director of Codialbail Press, Mangalore, was the chief guest. Correspondent V. Rev. Fr Walter D’Mello, Headmaster Rev. Fr Clifford Pinto, PTA Vice President Mr. Richard Sequeira, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Walter Monis, and Secretary Mr. Gilbert Pinto were the guests of honour.

The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries, accompanied by the School Pupil Leader Ashel D’Souza and program coordinators Teacher Renita Lasrado and Elvita Pais.

Suha Fathima of Class 7 narrated the significance of celebrating Patron’s Day. This was followed by a floral tribute and salutations to the statue of the Most Holy Redeemer by the dignitaries.

The entire program, consisting of vibrant dances and a skit, was wonderfully organized by the students of Class 7 and Class 5 under the guidance of the program coordinators.

The chief guest, Rev. Fr Vincent Vinod Saldanha, addressed the students with a sense of nostalgia, recalling the early years of the school and appreciating its development and achievements.

The Correspondent reflected on the meaning of Redeemer and encouraged students to remain focused on their academics. The Headmaster motivated the students to strive for excellence and victory in all school activities.

On this occasion, students who had cleared the Drawing Grade Examination conducted by the Karnataka State Education and Literacy Department were honoured.

Yusuf Hayan of Class 5 expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration. The program concluded with the singing of the school anthem. Students Swara and Aaron Fernandes of class 7 compered the event beautifully.
