Host of Taluk Level Handball Tournament

Holy Redeemer English Medium School, Belthangady, hosted the Taluk Level High School and Primary Boys and Girls Handball Tournament on August 23, in collaboration with the School Education and Literacy Department and Block Resource Office, Belthangady.
The inaugural ceremony was presided by V. Rev. Fr. Walter DMello, the Correspondent. Rev. Fr. Nelson Dheeraj Pais, Director of Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College, Deralakatte was the chief guest. The event was graced by the presence of Mrs Tarakesari, Block Education Officer, Belthangady; Mrs Sujaya, Physical Education Co-ordinator, Belthangady Cluster; Mrs Chethanakshi, Education Co-ordinator; Mrs Varija, Cluster Resource Person, Belthangady; Mr Walter Monis, Vice President and Mr Gilbert Pinto, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs Pauline Rego, Co-ordinator of Parish Commissions; Mr Richard Sequiera, Vice President of PTA and Mrs Renny Vas, Headmistress of Church Higher Primary School.
The guests were welcomed by the School Pupil Leader Ashel D’Souza along with the school band led by Thrisha.
The inaugural ceremony began with a prayer song sung by the school choir. Teacher Prabha Gowda welcomed the gathering wholeheartedly. Lighting the lamp and formal inauguration by the dignitaries added elegance to the program. Mrs Sujaya gave an over view on the rules and regulations of the tournament.
Headmaster introduced the chief guest. Rev Fr Nelson Pais gave a message to the participants on being sportive and showcase true sportsmanship.
Correspondent, in his presidential remarks gave his best wishes to the participants, advising them to focus towards the team spirit and victory.
Physical Education Trainer Mr Sandeep proposed the vote of thanks. All guests, sponsors and officials were honored with a memento. Teacher Elvita Pais compered the event.
In the valedictory ceremony, individual and team prize winners were awarded. Teacher Preetha D’Souza conducted the prize distribution. PTA members and all teaching and non-teaching staff worked unitedly towards the success of the event.
