The Annual Day of Holy Redeemer English Medium School, Belthangady, was celebrated with splendour on 20th November at 5:30 pm at the Holy Redeemer Church Grounds. The event marked a showcase of the school’s achievements and student talents for the academic years 2023–2025.
School Pupil Leader Miss Ashel D’Souza of Class 10, led by the school band under Aadlin Reeva Pereira and Sharlin Pinto, ceremoniously welcomed the dignitaries.
V. Rev. Fr Walter Oswald D’Mello, Correspondent of Holy Redeemer Institutions, presided over the programme, while Most Rev. Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, Bishop Emeritus of Belthangady Diocese, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Mr Walter Monis, Mr Gilbert Pinto, Mrs Pauline Rego, Mrs Renny Vas and Mr Richard Sequeira.
The programme commenced with a solemn prayer dance by the students. Headmaster Rev. Fr Clifford Simon Pinto delivered the welcome address.
Teacher Blendin Rodrigues presented the Annual Report, highlighting key academic and co-curricular achievements. A video compilation of school activities, prepared by Teacher Pallavi, was screened during the event.
Academic toppers from LKG to Class 9 and SSLC State Board achievers for 2024–25 were honored. Students who represented the school at district-level competitions were also felicitated.
Teacher Renita Lasrado introduced the chief guest, who was then felicitated by the dignitaries before delivering his address.
Felicitation of personalities related to the school were honored, which included, Alston DSilva of class 10 for his outstanding achievement in sports, Choreographer Mr Uday for being a greater part of the school’s major programs, and proud Alumni Joshan D’Souza for securing 7th rank in PU Board exam 2025.
The much-anticipated Squad Championship Trophies were awarded, with Green Squad emerging champions in both junior and senior categories. Red Squad and Yellow Squad secured the runners-up positions, in respective categories.
The Headmaster expressed gratitude to the sponsors and dignitaries. Teacher Lorna Lobo proposed the vote of thanks, while Teachers Saritha Rodrigues and Elvita Pais compered the formal ceremony.
The cultural segment, based on the theme ‘Humanity’, featured vibrant performances by students from Play School to Class 10, including dance, drama, music, martial arts, pyramids, and artistic displays. Merwin D’Souza and Fathima Swadiha of Class 10 hosted the cultural events.
The celebration concluded with the rendition of the School Anthem by the school choir.
